Fed: Gillard says put the nation first

CANBERRA, Feb 8 AAP - Malcolm Turnbull and Peter Costello have been told to put their
political ambitions on hold and think of the nation first.

The federal government is pushing the line that former treasurer Peter Costello is
stalking Mr Turnbull for the Liberal leadership.

Mr Costello, presently on the Opposition backbench, has previously indicated he's not
interested in the leadership or taking a seat on the coalition frontbench.

But in the past week Mr Costello has made himself available for a number of media interviews,
freely airing his views …
