Qld: Yanner faces court over weapons charges
BURKETOWN, QLD, Aug 22 AAP - Aboriginal activist Murrandoo Yanner faced a court innorth-west Queensland today charged with possessing a pistol and a shortened shotgun.
He was also charged with possessing illegal fireworks, a dangerous drug, failing tosecurely store a weapon and unauthorised meat processing.
Yanner, who appeared in Burketown Magistrates Court, was one of seven people chargedon August 6 after police raids on 10 homes at Burketown and Doomadgee in north-west Queensland.
He was not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned until November 21.
