WASHINGTON -- Job security, stress and mandatory overtime occupied negotiators for Verizon Communications and union workers Tuesday, the 10th day of a walkout by thousands of technicians and customer service workers.
Talks on a new contract continued, but with limited success, a union spokesman said.
``We've been exchanging proposals back and forth,'' said Jeff Miller, a spokesman for the Communications Workers of America. ``So far we cannot report a great deal of progress, but our negotiators are in constant touch and are working hard on the major issues.''
